ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Manali (2,050m)
Arrive in the bustling town of Manali, nestled in the Beas River Valley. Check into your hotel and spend the day at leisure, exploring Manali’s vibrant markets, ancient temples, and the lush green surroundings. In the evening, attend a pre-expedition briefing where your guides will discuss safety protocols, distribute gear, and finalize preparations. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 2: Manali to Jispa (3,300m) and Acclimatization.
Drive Distance: 92 km | Drive Time: 3 hours
On the second day, we will start from Manali in the morning. It is a journey of 3 hours which covers the Atal Tunnel. The route to Jispa is simply awesome with snowy roads and mountain peaks on both ends.
This route is like a paradise for trekkers. Do not forget to capture all these beautiful memories with your camera. We will reach Jispa by noon and relax in our tents. The rest of the day will be spent at Jispa by discovering the local points with hiking that will be your acclimatisation walk also.
In the evening, we will get back to our campsite and enjoy dinner. After dinner, it is time to enjoy the night’s sleep in our tents under the sky.
Day 3: Jispa to Shinkun Base Camp (4,600 Meters)
Distance: 30 km | Duration: 3 hours
Today’s journey takes you deeper into the heart of the Himalayas. After a short drive, you’ll arrive at the Shinkun Base Camp, located in a pristine alpine meadow surrounded by towering peaks. Once at base camp, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding glaciers and ridges. The rest of the day will be spent acclimatizing and preparing for the climb ahead.
Day 4: Acclimatization and Load Ferry to Camp 1 (5,100 Meters)
Duration: 5-6 hours
Start your day with a challenging trek to Camp 1, carrying essential gear and supplies. The trail climbs steadily through rocky terrain and scree slopes, offering spectacular views of the Shinkun glacier. This load ferry not only helps set up Camp 1 but also aids in acclimatization. After spending some time at Camp 1, return to base camp for rest and recovery.
Day 5: Trek to Camp 1 (5,100 Meters)
Duration: 4 hours
Today marks your move to Camp 1. The trek involves navigating uneven rocky paths and glacial moraines, testing your endurance and balance. Upon reaching Camp 1, set up tents and take in the stunning vistas of the surrounding peaks. The evening will be spent preparing for the summit push.
Day 6: Camp 1 to Summit Camp (5,600 Meters)
Duration: 3-4 hours
The trail from Camp 1 to Summit Camp becomes steeper and more technical, requiring careful maneuvering over icy patches and ridges. As you approach the Summit Camp, the views become even more dramatic, with towering peaks and endless horizons. Spend the evening resting and mentally preparing for the summit attempt.
Day 3: Jispa to Shinkun Base Camp (4,600 Meters)

Standing atop Shinkun West Peak, you’ll be greeted by a 360-degree view of the Himalayan ranges, an unforgettable moment of triumph. After celebrating your achievement, descend back to Camp 1 or Base Camp for the night.
Day 8: Buffer Day
A reserved day for summit attempts in case of weather delays or unforeseen circumstances.
Day 9: Descend to Base Camp and Drive to Manali
Duration: 2-3 hours (descend) + 5-6 hours (drive)
Today, it is the last day. We will start the journey from Shinkun camp after breakfast. We will take the same route that we took earlier to reach Shinkun West Peak. From Shinkun Base camp, we will drive towards Jispa and get back to Manali by Evening.
After reaching Manali, we will give a final goodbye to our team members and friends. We will separate from Manali with a smile and move towards our own destination.

PREPARATION GUIDE
Have Previous Trekking/Mountaineering Experience.
Weight training the body. Walk uphill or stairs steps with a weighted backpack.
Strength training for the lower body and core. Do planks, crunches and cycling.
Climbing shinkun west requires a fit body and a conscious mind. One needs to be exercising regularly for the past couple of months.
Any high-altitude trek requires you to build a good amount of cardiovascular endurance. Jogging is the best exercise to increase your stamina.
You need strong legs to successfully finish a high-altitude trek. Squats are the best way to build leg strength quickly. Especially your thighs, glutes and knees.
